Winter in the Isarco Valley a true skiing paradise
In the Isarco Valley, winter sports fans will experience plenty of fun. Only 1.5 km from our house, there is the Ski Resort Maders, where you may enjoy skiing and the panoramic views of the Isarco Valley. There are also several other larger skiing areas close to Velturno. Beginners and experts will find 40 km of ski slopes, seven ski lifts and a fun park in the ski resort Plose (about 15 km). Plenty of variety is also offered by 12 km of well-prepared winter hiking trails and several toboggan runs.
If you spend the winter in the Isarco Valley with your children, you will be thrilled by the family-friendly ambience and the pleasant tranquillity of the ski area Gitschberg-Val Giovo near Maranza (about 20 km). Three children’s parks offer you full-day child care, so may enjoy 51 kilometres of ski slopes. 16 modern ski lifts, two ski schools, a snow park, panoramic platforms, and rustic huts complete the offer.
For expert skiers, we recommend the ski area Val Gardena (25 km). It offers 175 kilometres of slopes, the popular ski park with its adventure slopes, as well as the possibility to enter the legendary Sella Ronda.
